NALS TWIN CITIES' COMMITTEES

We welcome all members that would like to serve on the NALS Twin Cities' Committees.

We learn as we go and would like everyone to share their talents!

NALS' members, please consider joining a committee!

AUDIT [COMMITTEE]

CARLA STEVENSON* AND SARAH BAGWELL

Description of duties shall include, but not be limited to, the following: The committee shall submit a report as to its findings to the Board not later than September 1st of each year. (This committee shall consist of three members of this Chapter, one of whom shall be the Treasurer-elect. The outgoing Treasurer and President cannot be appointed to this committee. The President shall appoint an Audit Committee at the annual banquet each year to audit the books of this Chapter.)

BAR LIAISON [COMMITTEE]

Description of duties shall include, but not be limited to, the following: This committee shall work with the local and state bar associations and seek endorsement of various benefits and programs of membership in the Chapter and Association.

BYLAWS [COMMITTEE]

LORI CHANCE

Description of duties shall include, but not be limited to, the following: In addition to other duties outlined in the Bylaws and Standing Rules, this committee shall prepare proposed Bylaw and Standing Rule amendments. (The Parliamentarian shall serve as chairperson of this committee.)

CONTINUING EDUCATION [COMMITTEE]

Description of duties shall include, but not be limited to, the following: This committee shall organize continuing education programs such as “Day in Court” and any other educational seminars the Chapter wishes to promote.

HISTORIAN [COMMITTEE]

CHRIS BECHTOLD

Description of duties shall include, but not be limited to, the following: Each year this committee shall prepare and present a history book to the outgoing President at the awards banquet.

LEGISLATIVE [COMMITTEE]

Description of duties shall include, but not be limited to, the following: The committee shall keep the members informed on legislation pending, both locally and nationally, of interest to members.

MARKETING [COMMITTEE]

DEANNE BROOKS

Description of duties shall include, but not be limited to, the following: This committee shall submit news of the Chapter for publication through the appropriate media, including local newspapers; submit copies of any news clippings to the Historian; promote and work with sponsors; prepare contracts related to sponsorship; and provide the Webmaster with the sponsorship logos and details to the Webmaster.

MEMBER AND COMMUNITY SERVICES [COMMITTEE]

LORI CHANCE

Description of duties shall include, but not be limited to, the following: This committee shall solicit and offer ideas for continuing charitable projects throughout the year. In addition, in the event of a serious illness of a member, the chairperson shall send a card and/or flowers on behalf of the Chapter.

MEMBERSHIP [COMMITTEE]

TERRI LUZOVICH

Description of duties shall include, but not be limited to, the following: 1. Provide membership information at each Chapter-sponsored event; 2. Provide membership information and follow up to prospective members; 3. Update membership brochure as needed; 4. Organize membership drives; 5. Maintain current membership roster with the assistance of the Treasurer; and 6. Provide monthly report to the Board.

NOMINATIONS AND ELECTIONS [COMMITTEE]

LEAH BIERMAIER

Description of duties shall include, but not be limited to, the following: This committee shall be in charge of issuing the call for nominations for the offices of President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer. (This committee shall consist of three members of this Chapter, one of whom shall be the Secretary.)

PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATIONS [COMMITTEE]

Description of duties shall include, but not be limited to, the following: This committee shall seek out qualified members and assist them in their study and preparation for the PP, PLS and ALS examinations. This committee shall be responsible for maintaining the file and obtaining up-to-date mock exams.

PUBLICATIONS (LEGALS) [COMMITTEE]

SARAH BAGWELL

Description of duties shall include, but not be limited to, the following: The LEGALS' editor shall be as specific as possible in suggesting subject matter of articles for publication in the LEGALS and shall use discretion in accepting and publishing articles. All material submitted to the editor must be approved by the President before publication. This Chapter, through action of the Board, shall retain the right to refuse publication of any article found not to conform with our editorial policy of publishing a professional publication. RESERVATIONS [COMMITTEE]

Description of duties shall include, but not be limited to, the following: This committee shall handle all reservations for the meetings of this Chapter and coordinate the meeting location. If a charge is made, the committee shall collect the money and remit the same to the Treasurer.

SOCIAL MEDIA [COMMITTEE]

DEANNE BROOKS*, JOY KAMMUELLER, SARAH BAGWELL, AND LORI CHANCE

Description of duties shall include, but not be limited to, the folliowing: This committee is in charge of updating and maintaining the NALS Twin Cities' Social Media Accounts (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn).

WEBSITE [COMMITTEE]

JOY KAMMUELLER*, SARAH BAGWELL, LORI CHANCE AND DEANNE BROOKS

Description of duties shall include, but not be limited to, the folliowing: This committee is in charge of updating and maintaining the NALS Twin Cities' website. (The Webmaster shall serve as the chairperson of this committee.)
